NEXAMITE® M022400: IV booster for rPET recycling lines

Rebuild intrinsic viscosity during reactive extrusion — the priority grade for the Turkish market

NEXAMITE® M022400 is an IV-boosting PET masterbatch for recycled PET lines. It raises the intrinsic viscosity lost during mechanical recycling through chain extension inside the extrusion process itself, so higher melt strength and mechanical performance can be reached without a separate solid-state polymerisation (SSP) step.

The grade is held in stock in Istanbul and is the priority product for the Turkish market. Final addition level and performance must be validated against the feedstock, starting IV, line configuration and end-use specification.

What it does

Intrinsic viscosity (IV) falls during mechanical recycling as hydrolytic and thermal degradation shortens the polymer chains. M022400 rebuilds molecular weight by chain extension during extrusion, restoring melt strength and mechanical performance — so recycled PET can be used in applications that would otherwise require virgin resin or an SSP step.

Key benefits

  • Can remove the SSP process — saving energy and process time.
  • Runs on existing extrusion lines; no additional capital investment required.
  • Supports higher recycled content, helping meet EU PPWR targets.
  • REACH and FDA compliant; documentation on request.

Typical applications

  • rPET recycling plants
  • PET sheet and film production
  • PET strapping / band production

Technical assessment note

Treat the dosage and temperature above as a starting window, not a specification. Define the working dose together with feedstock type, starting IV, moisture management, line configuration and final performance targets, and confirm it on your own line. Keep the current declaration of compliance and conditions of use on file for food-contact work.

Frequently asked questions

What is the dosage of NEXAMITE® M022400?
Typical dosage is 0.5–1.5% by weight. The final dose is defined by the IV of the input material and the target IV, and is confirmed by a line trial.
What is the processing temperature?
It is processed in the 270–290 °C range.
Which compliance documentation is available?
REACH and FDA compliant. Current TDS and SDS documents are sent on request.
How do I get the TDS and SDS?
Use the form on the contact page or write to info@nexchem-solutions.com; requests are answered within 24 hours.

The technical statements on this page are based on the manufacturer’s current public product information. Dosage, temperature and performance targets are defined per line through technical trial.
