NEXAMITE® A48 / M480502: melt strength enhancer for virgin PE

Controlled long-chain branching in demanding PE processes

NEXAMITE® A48 / M480502 is positioned to improve melt strength, process stability and long-term performance in virgin polyethylene applications. NEXAMITE additives modify polymer structure by creating long-chain branching through a controlled reaction during extrusion.

A48 is supplied in powder form; M480502 is supplied as a masterbatch with an HDPE carrier. Nexam Chemical states that the solution is designed for use without modification to existing processing equipment and without forming volatile by-products.

Technical assessment note

Do not conflate the two contexts of A48 on this page: a performance additive on Nexam’s virgin PE page, and listed as CAS 4856-87-5, Hexamethylene-1,6-di-maleimide on the functional chemicals page. Application form, purity/masterbatch selection and regulatory documentation must be technically verified.
