Polymer additives for Egyptian converters and exporters
Egyptian producers supplying packaging to the EU market face recycled-content requirements that depend on packaging category. Restoring processing performance at higher recycled content is the technical problem underneath that commercial one.
Who this is for
Converters, recyclers and compounders in Egypt producing PET, PE or PP packaging — particularly those placing packaging on the EU market, where Regulation (EU) 2025/40 sets differentiated recycled-content targets from 2030.
The technical problem
Higher recycled content usually means lower and more variable input quality. In PET that shows up as intrinsic viscosity loss; in PE as insufficient melt strength and sag; in PP as melt flow rate that does not match the target process. Reactive additives address each of these during extrusion, on existing equipment.
Where to start
Service note. Product supply, stock and delivery terms for Egypt are confirmed per enquiry. Technical assessment and documentation support are available in English and Arabic.
2030 recycled-content targets under Article 7
| Contact-sensitive plastic packaging whose major component is PET, excluding single-use plastic beverage bottles | 30% |
|---|---|
| Contact-sensitive plastic packaging made from plastics other than PET, excluding single-use plastic beverage bottles | 10% |
| Single-use plastic beverage bottles | 30% |
| Other plastic packaging | 35% |
